Ordinance SUNII~IARY & RECOMMENDATION Summary On June 14, 1993, City Council held a Public Hearing concerning amendments to Zoning Ordinance 1501 of the City of La Porte as related to Sections 3-100, 6-400 and 10-1000. During that hearing, two major issues arose that merited further consideration. The issues were on-premise real estate signs and off-premise real estate signs. The ordinance amendments were tabled pending a Workshop Meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission. On June 21, 1993, City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission met in a joint workshop session to discuss the issues. As a result, two changes were proposed to deal with on-premise real estate signs. A. Section 10-1004 1.A. amended to read: (6) On-premise real estate signs are allowed and shall be exempt from all other provisions of Section 10- 1004. B. Section 10-1006 title amended to read: Subdivision Marketing Sictns Recommendation The staff recommends approval of Ordinance 1501-P with the proposed amendments presented above. Action Required by Council: 1. Approve a motion to reconsider Ordinance 1501-P. 2. Approve a motion to amend the proposed regulations as follows: Amend Section 10-1004 1.A. to read: (6) On-premise real estate signs are allowed and shall be exempt from all other provisions of Section 10-1004. Amend Section 10-1006 title amended to read: Section 10-1006 Subdivision Marketing Sictns 3. Approve Ordinance 1501-P as amended.
