Herrera, City Manager <br />FROM: Louis Rigby, Director of Administrative Services <br />SUBJECT: RFP !{0053 -Golf Course Concessions <br />Requests for proposal /{0053 for consessions at Bay Forest Golf Course were mailed to eighteen <br />(18) prospective vendors with three (3) returning proposals: Kevin O'Brien, Chuck Berry, and <br />John Hunter. The proposals were to be evaluated using the following criteria: experience, <br />strength of financial condition, monthly percentage of gross sales proposed, price, size and <br />content of items to be sold, equipment to be installed, ability to meet all other conditions <br />specified, and references. <br />Following is the experience submitted by each offeror: <br />O'Brien - Golf Course 1 yr 3 mo* (Galveston) <br />Other 11 yr ('Tavern/Bar) <br />4 yr (Beach) <br />*was recently awarded concessions at Texas City Municipal Golf Course <br />Berry - Golf Course 10 yr 7 mo (Bay Forest, Clear Lake, Tour 18) <br />Other 3 yr (NCO Club - F.~lington) <br />Hunter - Golf Course 0 yr <br />Other Syr (Tavern w/food) <br />5 yr (Restaurant Mgr) <br />Jeff Litchfield reviewed the financial statements submitted and all three appear to be financially <br />sound. <br />O'Brien proposed the highest percentage to be paid to the City at 20% of gross sales. Berry <br />proposed 12% and Hunter proposed 1196. Mr. Berry is currently paying the City 1096. Gross <br />sales over the past nine (9) months have averaged $15,000. The 89b difference between O'Brien <br />and Bevy would amount to $1,200 per month. <br />
