• <br />Minutes Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />July 26, 1993, Page 2 <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, <br />Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />5. Council presented a proclamation recognizing Jim Longnecker <br />for his contributions to the City of La Porte. Mrs. Shirley <br />Longnecker accepted as Mr. Longnecker was ill and unable to <br />attend the council meeting. <br />6. Representatives of the La Porte Noon Optimist Club, <br />represented by 1st Vice President Dick Kane, Director Pam Mabe <br />and Secretary/Treasurer Larry Mabe, presented a plaque to City <br />of La Porte Parks and Recreation Department in appreciation <br />for their efforts and assistance to the Optimist Club. <br />Receiving the plaque was Acting Director of Parks and <br />Recreation Bert Clark and Recreation Superintendent Tim <br />O'Connor. <br />7. Two citizens ask to address Council. <br />Mr. Doyle Westergren spoke to Council in favor of passing <br />Ordinance 93-1919 approving and authorizing an agreement with <br />Kevin O'Brien for food and beverages concessions at Bay Forest <br />Golf Course. <br />Mr. Dan Shea, representing St. Clair Equipment, spoke against <br />the passing of Ordinance 93-1919 and asked Council to retain <br />the present concessionaire, Mr. Chuck Berry. <br />8. Council considered approving an ordinance awarding contract <br />for concessions at Bay Forest Golf Course. <br />Mayor Malone stated "there has been a request from two <br />Councilmen for an executive session on this item." <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION - V.A.T.S. - ARTICLE 6252-17, SECTION S(E), <br />(F), (G), (R) - (LEGAL, LAND ACQUISITION, PERSONNEL, AND <br />CONFERENCE(S) WITH EMPLOYEE(S) TO RECEIVE INFORMATION) <br />Council retired into executive session at 6:17 P.M. and <br />returned to the table at 6:18 P.M. and Mayor Malone stated <br />"their was no executive session held". <br />Council continued the meeting with discussion on item 8. <br />
