• • <br />Minutes Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />October 11, 1993, Page 2 <br />5. Mr. Joseph Shunta, 138 Oakdale, La Porte, spoke to Council <br />regarding the Hunting Ordinance. Mr. Shunta was asking <br />Council to reconsider the passing of this ordinance and give <br />him permission to bow hunt in the city limits of La Porte. <br />6. Council considered adopting an ordinance amending Chapter 6, <br />adding Section 14, "Family/Medical Leave", of the City of La <br />Porte Personnel Policy Manual. (Tabled by Councilperson Clarke <br />at August 23, 1993 Meeting) <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to brinct this <br />ordinance back to Council for. consideration. Second by <br />Councilperson Maxwell. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE NO. 93-1924 - AN ORDINANCE <br />ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 6, SECTION 14, <br />"FAMILY/MEDICAL LEAVE", OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE PERSONNEL <br />POLICY MANUAL DATED JANUARY 1, 1992; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY <br />CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson_Clarke__to_ap~rove Ordinance <br />93-1924 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Cooper. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />7. Council considered adopting a resolution relating to federal <br />unfunded mandates. <br />City Manager Bob Herrera explained the intent of the <br />resolution and the staff recommendation. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Cooper to adopt Resolution <br />93-14 regarding federal unfunded mandates. Second by <br />Councilperson McLaughlin. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br />
