The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at 6:00 <br />P. M. <br /> <br />Members of city Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Mike Cooper, Bob Thrower, Bob <br />McLaughlin, Alton Porter, Deotis Gay, Jack Maxwell and Jerry <br />Clarke <br /> <br />Members of city council Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Members of city Staff Present: City Manager Bob Herrera, <br />City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Sue Lenes, Assistant <br />City Manager John Joerns, Director of Administrative Services <br />Louis Rigby, Police Chief Bobby Powell, Planning Director <br />Chuck Harrington, Director Parks and Recreation Buddy Jacobs, <br />Chief Building Official Mark Lewis, Inspector II Debbie <br />Wilmore, Fire Marshall Paul Hickenbottom <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> <br />A number of citizens <br /> <br />2. The invocation was given by Mayor Malone. <br /> <br />3. Council considered approving minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />October 11, 1993. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve the October <br />11 minutes as presented. Second by Councilperson McLaughlin. <br />The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays and 1 abstain. <br />(councilperson Gay was away from the Council table) <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilperson Thrower <br /> <br />(councilperson Gay came to the Council table at 6:05) <br /> <br />4. Mayor Malone proclaimed the week of October 23-31 as "Red <br />Ribbon Week". Mrs. Joyce Sease accepted the proclamation and <br />presented each Councilperson with a red ribbon. The Mayor <br />also proclaimed October 24-30 as "Pharmacy Week". Ms. <br />Kathleen Jackson and Mr. Neil Broussard accepted the <br />proclamation. <br />
