Council considered adopting an amendment to Ordinance 1285, an <br />ordinance implementing pOlicemen's civil service; establishing <br />classifications; number of authorized positions in each <br />classification; establishing pay schedules. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1285-J - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />ORDINANCE NO 1285, "AN ORDINANCE IMPLEMENTING POLICEMEN'S <br />CIVIL SERVICE; ESTABLISHING CLASSIFICATIONS; NUMBER OF <br />AUTHORIZED POSITIONS IN EACH CLASSIFICATION; ESTABLISHING PAY <br />SCHEDULES; CONTAINING SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF". <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Maxwell to adopt Ordinance <br />1285-J as read by the city Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />McLaughlin.
