<br />MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING AND SPECIAL CALLED REGULAR MEETING <br />LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 29, 1993 <br />6:00 P.M. Mayor Malone asked EMS Chief Chris Osten to come before <br />Council and announced congratulations were in order. Each year the <br />Texas Department of Health recognizes outstanding achievement in <br />the EMS field during their annual conference. Mayor Malone stated <br />La Porte EMS was chosen this year as the "Public Provider of the <br />Year", and this honor was bestowed to the La Porte EMS during the <br />annual awards luncheon at the 1993 Texas EMS Conference in Forth <br />Worth on November 23, 1993. Mr. Herrera congratulated EMS Chief <br />Chris Osten and his staff on behalf of Administration of the City <br />and stated "this is a compliment to our City government, to <br />leadership, and to the quality of skills provided by our futuristic <br />EMS division. This is the highest honor that an EMS group can <br />obtain, and it is an honor that is rightfully earned." <br />Chief Osten introduced his staff present - Paramedic Supervisor Ray <br />Nolan; Paramedics Lisa Camp, Ron Matejowski and Ty James. <br />1. The invocation was given by Councilperson Porter. <br />3. Council considered approving minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />November 8, 1993. <br />
