r • <br />MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 30, 1993 <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:00 P.M. <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons Mike Cooper, Bob Thrower, Bob McLaughlin, Alton <br />Porter, Jack Maxwell and Jerry Clarke <br />Members of City Council Absent: Councilpersons Guy Sutherland <br />and Deotis Gay <br />Members of City Staff Present: Assistant City Manager John <br />Joerns, City Secretary Sue Lenes, Planning Director Chuck <br />Harrington <br />Others Present: Three representatives of Quantum Chemical <br />Corporation, Mr. William (Bill) Nelson, Senior Attorney, Mr. <br />Don Hamilton, Manager of Administrations and Mr. Rich Dolfi, <br />Tax Manager <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Bob McLaughlin. <br />3. There were no citizens asking to address Council. <br />4. Mayor Malone opened the public hearing at 6:03 P.M. The <br />purpose of this hearing was to hear presentation of service <br />plans for the annexation of a tract of land comprising the La <br />Porte Battleground Industrial District and a tract of land <br />comprising the La Porte Bayport Industrial District. Copies <br />of the service plans were made available for public inspection <br />and explanations to inhabitants of the area to be annexed. <br />Planning Director Chuck Harrington reviewed service plans with <br />Council. Mayor Malone asked if there was anyone wishing to <br />speak either for or against the annexation. There was no one <br />asking to speak. He then asked if anyone has any comments or <br />questions. Mayor Malone asked the representative from Quantum <br />if they had any questions to ask or discuss? Quantum <br />representative, Mr. Nelson stated "not unless Council has any <br />of us . " Mayor Malone asked Council if they had any questions? <br />Council had no question. Mayor asked Mr. Harrington for staff <br />recommendation. Mr. Harrington stated "staff recommends this <br />service plan as presented". Mayor Malone closed the public <br />hearing at 6:13 P.M. <br />
