The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at 3:00 <br />P.M. <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Bob Thrower, Bob McLaughlin, <br />Alton Porter, Deotis Gay, and Jack Maxwell <br />Members of Council Absent: Councilpersons Mike Cooper and <br />Jerry Clarke <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Robert T. <br />Herrera, City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Sue Lenes, <br />Assistant City Manager John Joerns <br />Others Present: Mr. Ron Jackson, Sunbelt Hotels, Inc. <br />2. The invocation was given by City Attorney Knox Askins. <br />3. Council adjourned into executive session at 3:05 P.M. to <br />discuss the following items under V.A.T.S. - Articles 6252-17, <br />Section 2(E) - (Legal): Meet with City Attorney regarding <br />contractual matter(s); Section 2(R) - (Conference(s) with <br />employee(s) to receive information): Meet with City Manager <br />to receive information on Hotel Project. Council returned to <br />the table at 4:02 P.M., no action being taken in executive <br />session. <br />4.
