The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at <br />6:00 P.M. <br />Mp,nt~,ors of Citv Counc ~ Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Mike Cooper, Bob Thrower, Bob <br />McLaughlin, Alton Porter, Deotis Gay, Jack Maxwell and Jerry <br />Clarke <br />Members of Council Absent: None <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Robert T. <br />Herrera, Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong, City <br />Secretary Sue Lenes, Assistant City Manager John Joerns, <br />Municipal Court Judge J.B. Williamson, Director of <br />Administrative Services Louis Rigby, Chief of Police Bobby <br />Powell, Director of Finance Jeff Litchfield, Police Lt. Carl <br />Crisp, Purchasing Agent Susan Kelley, Director of Planning <br />Chuck Harrington, EMS Paramedics Joe Berry and Norma Witten <br />Qthers Present: A number of La Porte citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Maxwell. <br />3. Council considered approving minutes of Regular Meeting April <br />25, 1994. <br />of April 25 as presented. Second by Councilperson Thrower. <br />The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />4. Mayor Malone presented a proclamation to La Porte EMS <br />Paramedics Joe Berry and Norma Witten proclaiming the week of <br />May 15 through 21 as Emergency Medical Services Week. This <br />proclamation recognizes the emergency medical services teams <br />for their value and accomplishments as medical service <br />providers. <br />Mayor Malone presented a proclamation to Sean Lester <br />proclaiming May 9th as Sean Lester Day and urged all citizens <br />to recognize Sean for his many accomplishments especially in <br />Martial Arts. <br />
