Mr. Herrera announced a Memorial Day celebration sponsored by the VFW, <br />on May 30 at 11:00 AM., and that the City Council is invited to attend. The <br />Mayor Pro Tem is invited to lay a wreath at the memorial at that time. <br /> <br />C. Mr. Herrera asked Council to see if they had a conflict with a proposed <br />retreat to be held July 8, 9, and 10 at Del Lago. Carol will call each member <br />to see if there is any conflict. <br /> <br />D. Steve Gillett presented a follow-up report on sanitary sewer system repairs <br />that Mr. Joerns had reported on at the May 9 meeting. He described a <br />proposed plan to relieve the problem, to be undertaken by Furlow Services, <br />Inc., of La Porte, at a total estimated cost of $32,500. The work should take <br />two weeks to complete. He will have a contract for Council approval at the <br />Council meeting on June 13. <br /> <br />16. Councilpersons Clarke, Maxwell, Porter, McLaughlin, Thrower, Cooper, Sutherland <br />and Mayor Pro Tem Gay brought items to Council's attention. <br /> <br />17. Council adjourned into executive session at 7:12 P.M. under VA T.S. Article 6252-17, <br />Section 2(E) - (Legal), to receive report from City Manager and City Attorney <br />regarding pending lawsuit(s). Council returned to the table at 8:30, with no action <br />being taken. <br /> <br />18.
