Minutes Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />July 25, 1994, Page 2 <br />7. Council considered approving an ordinance ratifying and <br />confirming the appointment of J.B. Williamson as Judge of the <br />Municipal Court of the City of La Porte and authorize an <br />agreement between City of.La Porte and J.B. Williamson. <br />Councilperson Maxwell made a motion to table item 7 at this <br />time. Second by Councilperson Sutherland. The motion <br />carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />(Ordinance 94-1989 had been assigned to Item 7. Since Item 7 <br />has been tabled indefinitely, Ordinance 94-1989 will now be <br />moved forward to Item 8, approving and authorizing an <br />agreement between the City of La Porte and the City of <br />Morgan's Point, for emergency 911 dispatch and jail service, <br />fire protection, and emergency ambulance service. All <br />Ordinance numbers will following in consecutive order. When <br />this item is brought before Council at a later date, it will <br />have a new number assignment.) <br />8. Council considered an ordinance approving and authorizing an <br />agreement between the City of La Porte and the City of <br />Morgan's Point, for emergency 911 dispatch and jail service, <br />fire protection, and emergency ambulance service. <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera reviewed for Council the <br />information and formula used for preparing this agreement with <br />Morgan's Point for governmental services. <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 94-1989 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND THE CITY OF MORGAN'S POINT, FOR EMERGENCY 911 <br />DISPATCH AND JAIL SERVICE, FIRE PROTECTION, AND EMERGENCY <br />AMBULANCE SERVICE; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Maxwell to approve Ordinance <br />94-1989 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Gay.
