HICKENBOTTOM D epar tment: FIRE PREVENTION u Report Resolution XXX Ordinance Exhibits: LIST OF REQUESTED NATIONAL FIRE CODE (N.F.P.A.) STANDARDS SUMMARY ~ RECOMMENDATION. The La Porte Fire Code Review Committee met on June 20, 1994 and July 25, 1994, and voted unanimously to request that the city council ammend Article 35 of the Fire .Code, by updating Section 35.1. Article 35 - Reference Publications and Definitions Division 1 - Reference Publications . Section 35.1 - Adoption by Reference of Certain Publications The update of Section 35.1, will provide the Fire Marshal's Office personnel with current publications. These publications will be used to aid Inspectors .. during thr review of new and on going occupancy operations, and to provide technical assistance during the review of blueprints used for commerical .: .. construction. This update, which should be done every two years, will make the Fire Code more compatible with other codes already adopted by the city. This .update will also - help stop the following comments/complaints from architects, engineers and contractors: 1. The Fire Code is out of date, or 2. I can't buy or find that edition of the code, it is no longer in print. Therefore, the committee is requesting the following: ~: DELETE: THE CURRENTLY ADOPTED NATIONAL FIRE CODE (N.F.P.A.) STANDARDS, and ADOPT:. THE PROPOSED NATIONAL FIRE CODE (N.F.P.A.) STANDARDS - SEE ATTACHED REDUESTED LIST: Action Required by Council: Review request.and approve Ordinance 1388 C updating the Fire Code.
