MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF <br />LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 26, 1994 <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at 6:00 <br />P.M. <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Mike Cooper, Bob Thrower, Bob <br />McLaughlin, Alton Porter, Deotis Gay, Jack Maxwell and Jerry <br />Clarke <br />Members of Council Absent: None <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Robert T. <br />Herrera, City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Sue Lenes, <br />Director of Administrative Services Louis Rigby, Director of <br />Planning Chuck Harrington, Police Lieutenants Aaron Corrales <br />and Tom Neely, Police Officer Matthew Deaumer, and MIS Manager <br />Larry Mabe <br />Others Present: Attorney Barry Abrams, General Manager of <br />Prime Cable Service Robert Burns and several of his staff <br />members, team members and coaches of the Texas Storm girls <br />fast pitch soft ball team, State Representative Robert Talton, <br />and',a number of La Porte citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by City Attorney Knox Askins. <br />3. Council considered approving minutes of Public Hearing and <br />Regular Meeting September 12, 1994. <br />Motion was made by Councilnerson Cooper to approve the minutes <br />of September 12 as presented. Second by Councilperson <br />Maxwell. The motion carried, 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />4. Mayor Malone proclaimed September 26, 1994, as Matthew Deaumer <br />Day. Officer Deaumer and his wife accepted the proclamation. <br />Also, Mayor Malone presented a proclamation to the girls fast <br />pitch soft ball team, Texas Storm. A copy of the proclamation <br />was presented to each of the young ladies on the team and to <br />their coaches by the La Porte City Council, City Attorney and <br />City Manager. <br />5. Mr. Rickie Edward of Cenikor asked to speak to Council <br />regarding the Cenikor Foundation. Mr. Edwards resides at <br />
