Office of the 'Mayor <br />"W <br />Porte ten year old and <br />team; and <br />WHEREAS, this team of young ladies won the national Invitation Tournament <br />Championship; and <br />WHEREAS, Texas Storm achieved this lofty title in a remarkable carry. The <br />narrowest margin of victory in all their games was a 4 to 0 win Out of fifty-nine teams Texas <br />Storm was the only team to go undefeated; and <br />WHEREAS, these young ladies took fast place in the Spring Klein Pepsi <br />Challenge Tournament, fast place in the Houston Metro Tournament, second place in the <br />Humble Tournament and third place in the Coca Cola Classic Tournament in Alvin; and <br />WHEREAS, these are some of the finest young ladies in La Porte and they <br />have distinguished themselves on a national level They worked very hard to achieve their goals <br />and the City of La Porte is very proud of this team. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, NORMAN L. MALONE, MAYOR of the City <br />of La Porte, do hereby proclaim September 26, 1994, as <br />TEXAS STORM DAY <br />in the City of La Porte, and urge all citizens to recognize and commend this team for their <br />ethic; character and commitment to a higher standard of excellence which has allowed them <br />to claim a title unprecedented in La Porte Girls Softball Association history. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the <br />Seal of the City to be affixed hereto, this the 26th day of September, 1994. <br />CITY OF LA PORTE <br />Norman L.
