4 ~ <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF <br />LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 10, 1994 <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Deotis Gay at <br />6:00 P.M. <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Pro Tem Deotis Gay, <br />Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Mike Cooper, Bob Thrower, Alton <br />Porter, Jack Maxwell and Jerry Clarke <br />Members of Council Absent: Mayor Norman L. Malone and <br />Councilperson Bob McLaughlin <br />Members of City Staff Present.: City Manager Robert T. <br />Herrera, Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong, City <br />Secretary Sue Lenes, Assistant City Manager John Joerns, <br />Director of Administrative Services Louis Rigby, Director of <br />Public Works Steve Gillett, Director of Planning Chuck <br />Harrington, Police Lieutenant Aaron Corrales, and Golf Pro <br />Alex Osmond <br />Others Present: Attorney Barry Abrams, Dr. P.J. and Mrs. <br />Mock, and several La Porte citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Jack Maxwell. <br />3. Council considered approving minutes of Regular Meeting <br />September 26, 1994. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to approve the <br />minutes of September 26 as presented. Second by <br />Councilperson Cooper. The motion carried, 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, Porter, <br />Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Pro Tem Gay <br />Nays: None <br />4. Mayor Pro Tem Gay proclaimed the week of October 16-22, 1994, <br />as Ducks Unlimited Week. Dr. P.J. Mock accepted the <br />proclamation. A second proclamation was scheduled to be <br />presented to Mrs. Evelyn Kennedy proclaiming October 18, 1994, <br />as Retired Senior Volunteer Program Recognition Day. Mrs. <br />Kennedy was unable to attend the meeting tonight, therefore <br />the proclamation will be presented at a later date. <br />5. There were no citizens wishing to address Council. <br />6. Council considered approving an ordinance amending Ordinance <br />
