<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes Public Hearing <br />and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte city Council <br />October 24, 1994, Page 6 <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson McLauqhlin to declare an <br />emerqency. ratifY a contract with Furlow Service. Inc. and <br />appropriate funds for repairs to relocate water line on <br />Underwood Road. Second by councilperson Thrower. The motion <br />carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />15. Council considered a Consent Agenda as follows: A) Consider <br />awarding a contract to Dynamic Imaging system to furnish <br />imaging components software and maintenance; B) Consider <br />awarding a bid for the annual supply of reinforced concrete <br />pipe and associated items to Bay Concrete Product, Inc.; C) <br />Consider request to purchase three video cameras from a sole <br />source vendor Video Systems Plus. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Thrower to approve the <br />consent aqenda as presented. Second by Councilperson Maxwell. <br />The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />16. City Manager Robert T. Herrera reported to Council regarding <br />the letter from the One Hundred Club of Houston. Mr. Herrera <br />reported, "The City Police Department submitted a request to <br />the One Hundred Club for a grant of approximately $95,000.00. <br />The One Hundred Club, based on the performance by our Police <br />Chief which was superior, has agreed to fund $47,500.00 to the <br />city of La Porte if the City of La Porte can match that amount <br />by June of 1995. This grant will be for a new radio dispatch <br />and modular radio console system. This is recommended by this <br />administration, and what we would like to do, if Council <br />concurs with this direction, is place this item on the agenda <br />for the next council meeting for the appropriation of funds <br />from the General Fund contingency Account." Council directed <br />Mr. Herrera to place this item on the next regular meeting <br />agenda. <br /> <br />17. Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Gay, <br />Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone brought items to Council's <br />attention. <br /> <br />18. There was no need for an executive session, therefore none was <br />held. <br />
