• <br />Minutes of Special Called <br />Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />Ftl~. , 1995, Page 3 <br />~..o~ <br />Chuck Harrington reviewed with Council the summary and staff <br />recommendation to adopt a resolution requesting the City of La <br />Porte to be included in a petition by the City of Seabrook to <br />the Texas Department of Insurance for inclusion in the TCPIA <br />Catpool Insurance Program. <br />Mayor Malone brought Council's attention to a letter of <br />support for the passage of Resolution 95-04 from three local <br />Insurance Companies (Exhibit 4. attached hereto). <br />City Attorney read: RESOLUTION NO. 95-04 - A RESOLUTION OF <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, REQUESTING THAT THE <br />TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE INCLUDE THE CITY OF LA PORTE IN <br />THE AREA SERVICED BY THE TEXAS CATASTROPHE PROPERTY INSURANCE <br />ASSOCIATION; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Cooper to approve Resolution <br />95-04 as read by City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Sutherland. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />8. CONSIDER A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO GRANT <br />AGREEMENT FOR PROJECT NO. 3-48-0127-06-93 FROM THE FEDERAL <br />AVIATION ADMINISTRATION TO CONSTRUCT IMPROVEMENTS AT THE LA <br />PORTE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (Res. 95-05) - S. Gillett <br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett reviewed with Council <br />the summary and recommendation to accept Amendment No.l to <br />Grant Agreement for Project No. 3-48-0127-06-93. Upon <br />acceptance of the grant, the FAA will reimburse the City for <br />those eligible expenses associated with purchase of land and <br />easements. This amendment would bring the City's share, <br />including ineligible items, to $170,570.46, with the FAA's <br />share at $1,521,634.05. <br />City Attorney read: RESOLUTION NO. 95-05 - A RESOLUTION <br />ACCEPTING AMENDMENT NO.1 TO GRANT AGREEMENT FOR PROJECT NO. 3- <br />48-0127-06-93 FROM THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETING LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />
