<br />~ -~a <br />CITY OF LA PORTE <br />INTER-DEPARTMENTAL MEMORANDUM <br />March 28, 1995 <br />TO: E to a of the Quarter Committee <br />FROM: B ddy Jacobs, Assistant Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Employee of the Quarter Nomination <br />Isabel Salinas is currently the Equipment Services Supervisor in <br />the Equipment Services Division of Public Works. He has been an <br />employee of the City of La Porte for a period of almost fifteen <br />(15) years. During this time he has advanced from a mechanic to <br />the Equipment Services Supervisor. He knows his job and performs <br />it in a very effective, ;efficient manner. <br />Isabel was requested to perform the duties of the Equipment <br />Services Superintendent, as well as his normal duties, when the <br />former superintendent resigned. He has done this difficult <br />assignment in a very professional and dedicated manner. He has <br />performed so well he was requested to consider the position of <br />superintendent on a permanent basis; however, for personal reasons, <br />he declined. He was not only willing to assume extra duties, he <br />has performed far above that which was expected of him. He has <br />applied himself to learn duties he would not be expected to do in <br />his normal duties such as preparing budget, preparing Motor Pool <br />lease fees and replacement lists, and making decisions not usually <br />falling under his control. He has done excellently in all of <br />these. <br />Isabel is a joy to work with. He is usually cheerful and <br />optimistic in his outlook. He provides a positive role model for <br />all employees in Public Works and the City. He has regularly <br />performed over and above that required of him without complaint and <br />in a truly excellent manner. <br />For all of the above reasons, I am proud to submit Isabel Salinas <br />as a candidate for Employee of the Quarter.
