Seas Department: Fire <br />X Report Resolution Ordinance <br />Exhibits: None <br />SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION <br />Ambulance 1712 was seriously damaged in a vehicle accident. The <br />accident was not the City' fault. The estimated cost to repair this <br />vehicle is $35, 000 to $40, 000 which will be billed to the other <br />party's insurance company. The unit is three years old and would <br />have been scheduled for replacement in the 1996-97 fiscal year. <br />The purchase price for a new unit is $69,321.00. <br />We are presently without a backup ambulance and recommend that the <br />Council approve the purchase of a new unit from vehicle replacement <br />funds, which would be reimbursed from the other vehicles insurer. <br />Staff recommends Council consider approving purchasing a new <br />ambulance from McCoy -Miller Ambulance Co. in the amount of <br />$69, 321.00.
