<br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Minutes Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />October 23, 1995, Page 6 <br /> <br />15. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> <br />1.) City Manager Robert T. Herrera referred to a "draft" document placed before Council for their <br />review. Mr. Herrera asked for Council's comments by November 1st regarding changes and <br />corrections. This document titled "La Porte Texas Ready For Business" will be used in the future <br />when trying to promote the City of La Porte to outside interests. Mr. Herrera stated he feels this <br />will be very beneficial to the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />2.) Mr. Herrera reported the General Manager for Prime Cable, Robert Bums, had called stating <br />Prime Cable has sold its interests to Telecommunication, Inc. Prime assured Mr. Herrera this <br />transaction will not have any impact on the current rates that are paid by La Porte citizens. Mr. <br />Herrera was told that TCl is the largest cable owned franchise in the United States. <br />CounciIperson Sutherland asked if we will renegotiate our cable franchise contract with TCl. <br />Finance Director Jeff Litchfield stated that a new contract will be negotiated with TCl. <br /> <br />16. COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Clarke and Mayor Malone brought items to <br />Council's attention. <br /> <br />17. EXECUTIVE SESSION - PURSUANT TO PROVISION OF THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW, <br />CHAPfER 551.071 THROUGH 551.076, AND 551.084, TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE, - <br />(CONSULTATION WITH ATTORNEY, DELmERATION REGARDING REAL PROPERTY, <br />DELmERATIONREGARDING PROSPECTIVE GIFT OR DONATION, PERSONNEL MATTERS, <br />CONFERENCE WITH EMPLOYEES, DELmERATIONREGARDING SECURITY DEVICES, OR <br />EXCLUDING A WITNESS DURING EXAMINATION OF ANOTHER WITNESS IN AN <br />INVESTIGATION) <br /> <br />A. SECTION 551.072 - (REAL PROPERTY) <br /> <br />MEET WITH CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO DISCUSS STREET RIGHT- <br />OF-WAY CLOSING <br /> <br />B. SECTION 551.072 - (REAL PROPERTY) <br /> <br />MEET WITH CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO DISCUSS GLEN MEADOWS <br />SUBDIVISION PROPERTY EXCHANGE FOR PARK PURPOSES <br /> <br />Council retired into executive session at 7:32 P.M. under Section 551.072 - (Real Property) to discuss A) <br />Meet with City Manager and City Attorney to Discuss Street Right-Of-Way Closing; B) Meet with City <br />Manager and City Attorney to discuss Glen Meadows subdivision property exchange for park purposes. <br />Council returned to the table at 8:15 P.M. with no action taken. <br /> <br />18. ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before Council, the meeting was duly adjourned at 8:16 P.M. <br />
