0 • <br />Minutes Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />January 22, 1996, Page 3 <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve Ordinance 96-2089. Second by Councilperson Gay. <br />The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilperson Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and <br />Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Councilperson Gay asked the representative from J.A.C. Interests, Inc., Mr. Steve Chandler, if the March <br />15th date would be adequate time for their firm to comply with payment requirements of the ordinance. <br />Mr. Chandler stated, "At this time we feel this is sufficient time to satisfy all prerequisites. Our firm will <br />keep the line of communication open with City Manager R. T. Herrera and Director of Planning Guy <br />Rankin. " <br />9. CONSIDER APPROVAL OR OTHER ACTION REGARDING THE APPOINTMENT OF A <br />CITIZENS COMMITTEE FOR SEABREEZE PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT - R. T. Herrera <br />City Manager R. T. Herrera reviewed the background and recommendation for the appointment of person <br />to serve on a citizens committee to study and recommend how best to develop the new bayfront park. <br />Mayor Malone read the names of the citizen recommended to serve on this committee and the <br />recommendation of Councilperson McLaughlin as the Council representative to serve on the committee. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Cooper to approve the list as read by Mayor Malone. Second by <br />Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and <br />Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />10. CONSENT AGENDA - ANY ITEM MAY BE REMOVED BY A COUNCILPERSON FOR <br />DISCUSSION <br />A. CONSIDER AWARDING BID FOR GOLF COURSE EQUIPMENT TO BROOKSIDE <br />EQUIPMENT AND GOLDTHWAITE'S OF TEXAS - D. Hlavaty <br />B. CONSIDER AWARDING BID FOR PARKS & RECREATION MAINTENANCE <br />EQUIPMENT TO (ITEM #1) LANSDOWNE MOODY CO., INC. AND (ITEM #2) <br />GOLDTHWAITE OF TEXAS - S. Barr <br />Motion was made by Councilperson McLaughlin to approve the consent agenda as presented. Second by <br />Councilperson Thrower. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and <br />Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />11. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br />City Manager R. T. Herrera had no administrative reports but asked for an executive session to be held. <br />
