This request seeks to rezone <br />a 4.049 acre tract out of the W.B. Root/William M. Jones Survey from Manufactured <br />Housing (MH) to General Commercial (GC). The tract in question is part of the Pecan <br />Plantation Mobile Home Park located at 8902 Spencer Highway. <br /> <br />The April 11, Commission hearing constituted the first phase of the Rezoning review <br />and approval process. The final phase will be the April 22, Public Hearing conducted <br />by City Council. After closing the hearing, Council will consider approval of the <br />rezoning request. <br /> <br />In preparation for this City Council Public Hearing, staff has satisfied all public notice <br />requirements, including a mailout to the owners of all properties located within 200 <br />feet of the tract in question. A total of 5 notices were mailed. As of April 16, the <br />date on which this agenda request is being prepared, no replies have been received, <br />either in favor or against the request. If any replies are received, they will be provided <br />to Council at the April 22, Public Hearing. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission, by unanimous vote, has recommended approval <br />of R96-002. Staff concurs with this recommendation. <br /> <br />Action Required by Council: <br /> <br />1 . Conduct Public Hearing <br />2.
