Transmittal Letter from Planning and Zoning Commission Application for Zone Change Request Staff Report Rezoning Ordinance 1501- T SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION Summary The Planning & Zoning Commission, at its April 11, 1996, meeting, considered and recommended approval of Rezoning Request #R96-002. This request seeks to rezone a 4.049 acre tract out of the W.B. Root/William M. Jones Survey from Manufactured Housing (MH) to General Commercial (GC). The tract in question is part of the Pecan Plantation Mobile Home Park located at 8902 Spencer Highway. The April 11, Commission hearing constituted the first phase of the Rezoning review and approval process. The final phase will be the April 22, Public Hearing conducted by City Council. After closing the hearing, Council will consider approval of the rezoning request. In preparation for this City Council Public Hearing, staff has satisfied all public notice requirements, including a mailout to the owners of all properties located within 200 feet of the tract in question. A total of 5 notices were mailed. As of April 16, the date on which this agenda request is being prepared, no replies have been received, either in favor or against the request. If any replies are received, they will be provided to Council at the April 22, Public Hearing. Recommendation The Planning and Zoning Commission, by unanimous vote, has recommended approval of R96-002. Staff concurs with this recommendation. Action Required by Council: 1 .
