CONSIDER APPROVAL OR OTHER ACTION REGARDING AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING <br />AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTS AND THE ACCORD GROUP FOR <br />COMPUTER CONSULTING SERVICES (Ord 96-2103) -1.7oerns <br />Assistant City Manager John Joerns reviewed the summary and recommendation for the request and <br />approval of a contract with the Accord Group for the development of a Management Information System <br />Plan. Mr. Joerns answered question from Council and stated staff s recommendation for approval of a <br />contract with the Accord Group for a total of $23,800.00 with funds to be taken from the General <br />Contingency account. <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 96-2103 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING <br />AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTS AND THE ACCORD GROUP, FOR <br />COMPUTER CONSULTING SERVICES; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve Ordinance 96-2103. Second by Councilperson <br />Thrower. The motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />11. CONSIDER APPROVAL OR OTHER ACTION REGARDING AN ORDINANCE VACATING, <br />ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 687; TOWN OF LA PORTS <br />(Ord. 96-2104) - G. Rankin <br />Director of Planning Guy Rankin reviewed the summary and recommendation for the request from L. R. <br />Pfeiffer to close, vacate, and abandon the 16' X 400' alley of Block 687 for the construction of an offsite <br />employee parking lot and a lay down area for his business, Pfeiffer & Sons, Inc. <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 96-2104 - AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND <br />CLOSING THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 687, TOWN OF LA PORTS, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Maxwell to approve Ordinance 96-2104. Second by Councilperson <br />Gay. The motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />
