Gillett <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Porter to approve the consent agenda as presented Second by <br />Councilperson Clarke. The motion carved, 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and <br />Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />14. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera reported to Council that he will be participating on a retreat with the La <br />Porte Area Water Authority on May 23rd. and will be out of the office on that date. Mr. Herrera reported <br />that a copy of the agenda for the retreat has been distributed to Council for their review. Mr. Herrera <br />reported that Recreation Superintendent Russell Capps came to the City of La Porte from the City of Alvin, <br />Texas, and is a graduate of Baylor University. <br />Mr. Herrera reported the City held the employee family picnic at the Wave Pool this past Saturday, May <br />18th, and everyone had a very good time. Mr. Herrera thanked the Council members who attended for <br />their participation and commended staff for their hard work and planning in making the day a success. <br />15. COUNCII, ACTION <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke, and Mayor Malone brought items <br />to Council's attention. Mayor Malone announced a clean up day will be held at Posey's TV Service, 108 <br />South Broadway on Saturday, June 1, 1996, and any assistance will be appreciated. <br />16. EXECUTIVE SESSION -PURSUANT TO PROVISION OF THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW, <br />CHAPTER 551.071 THROUGH 551.076, AND 551.084, TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE, - <br />(CONSULTATION WITH ATTORNEY, DELIBERATION REGARDING REAL PROPERTY, <br />DELIBERATIONREGARDING PROSPECTTVEGIFT OR DONATION, PERSONNEL MATTERS, <br />CONFERENCE WITH EMPLOYEES, DELIBERATION REGARDING SECURITY DEVICES, OR <br />EXCLUDING A WITNESS DURING EXAMINATION OF ANOTHER WITNESS IN AN <br />INVESTIGATION) <br />A. SECTION 551.074 - (PERSONNEL) <br />MEET WITH CTTY COUNCIL REGARDING APPOINTMENT OF VARIOUS BOARDS, <br />COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES <br />Council retired into executive session at 6:50 P.M. to discuss A) Section 551.074 - (Personnel), meet with <br />City Council regarding Item 11, regarding appointment of various Boards, Commissions and Committees. <br />Council returaed to the table at 7:37 with no action taken. <br />
