CONSIDER APPROVAL OR OTHER ACTION REGARDING AN ORDINANCE APPROVING <br />AND AUTHORIZING A SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE <br />AND ALLEN R. PRINCE FOR SETTLEMENT OF A LAWSUIT. (Ord. 96-2128) -J. ARMSTRONG <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 96-2128 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING A RELEASE AND CONTRACT OF SETTLEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND ALLEN RAY PRINCE; APPROPRIATING NOT TO EXCEED $500,000.00 TO FUND <br />SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE <br />SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay toUnrove Ordinance 96-2128 as read by the Assistant City <br />Attorney. Second by Councilperson Porter. The motion carried, 8 ayes, and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />15. CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ITEMS CONSIDERED IN EXECUTIVE <br />SESSION <br />There was no consideration for this item. <br />16.
