CONSIDER APPROVAL OR OTHER ACTION REGARDING AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1501, THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE, BY CHANGING CLASSIFICATION OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND, <br />KNOWN AS APPROXIMATELY 7.26 ACRES OUT OF LA PORTE OUTWTS 718 & <br />719, THE 3800 BWCK OF UNDERWOOD ROAD, TO NEIGHBORHOOD <br />COMMERCIAL (NC) - (Ord. 1501-Y) - G. Rankin <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE NO. 1501-Y - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1501, MORE COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE ZONING <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, BY CHANGING CLASSIFICATION OF THAT <br />CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED; MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS OF <br />FACT RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to approve Ordinance 1501-Y as read by the City <br />Attorney. Second by Councilperson Sutherland. The motion carried, 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />. (Council person Porter, having left the chambers, was unavailable to vote on the remaining issues <br />to be brought before Council.) <br /> <br />Council person McLaughlin asked Planning Director Guy Rankin if all the taxes were current on <br />this property? Me. Rankin said they were current at time of the Planning and Zoning Public <br />Hearing. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />14. CONSIDER AWARDING A BID TO NATIONAL UNIFORM SERVICE FOR <br />FURNISlUNG UNIFORM RENTAL AND SERVICE - S. Kelley <br /> <br />Purchasing Agent Susan Kelley reviewed the summary and recommendation regarding a bid <br />award to National Uniform Services in the amount of $38,564.76, to furnish uniform rental and <br />service. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Cooper to award a bid to National Uniform Service for <br />furnishing uniform rental and service. Second by Councilperson McLaughlin. The motion <br />carried, 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />
