<br />, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Minutes Public Hearing and <br />Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />February 10, 1997, Page 4 <br /> <br />1.) Payment in the amount of $15,619.14 from the applicants to the city for the <br />closing. <br />2.) Payment of all delinquent taxes owed on the property adjacent to area to be <br />closed. <br />3.) Execution of a General Warranty deed to a 110' X 400' strip of land out of <br />Block 120, Town of La Porte for the widening of Little Cedar Bayou. <br /> <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera reported to Council, with the approval of Item 7 and <br />subsequently Item 8, in addition to what we will be receiving from the applicant, the City of La <br />Porte will also open up 10 acres of additional property because of some water sewer efforts that <br />we are going to produce, and another 20 acres with water and sewer. The actions between Items <br />7 and 8 will create 30 acres worth of development for the City which will come back to the City <br />through front foot fees. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE NO. 97-2161 - AN ORDINANCE VACATING, <br />ABANDONING AND CLOSING; THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 119, TOWN OF LA PORTE, <br />HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; AND VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING A <br />PORTION OF; THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF SOUTH 11TH STREET, TOWN OF LA PORTE, <br />HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH; THE OPEN MEETINGS <br />LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to approve Ordinance 97-2161 as read by the City <br />Attorney. Second by Councilperson Sutherland. The motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and <br />Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />8. CONSIDER APPROVAL OR OTHER ACTION REGARDING A PROPOSED UTILITY <br />EXTENSION AGREEMENT BEIWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND DECKER <br />MCKIM -G. Rankin <br /> <br />City Engineer Doug Knuepper reviewed the summary and recommendation to authorize the City <br />Manager to enter into a Utility Extension Agreement with Decker McKim (an individual). Staff <br />also recommends that the sewer line be constructed along the route preferred by the City. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council person Sutherland to approve the proiect and authorize the <br />agreement. Second by Council person Gay. The motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
