<br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Minutes Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />February 24, 1997, Page 4 <br /> <br />City Attorney read: AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN <br />INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR ADVANCED FUNDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF La <br />PORTE AND THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FOR THE <br />INSTALLATION OF CASSINGS, A WATER LINE, AND A SEWER LINE CROSSING <br />STATE HIGHWAY 146 AT THE NORTHERN LIMITS OF THE STATE HIGHWAY <br />146/STATE HIGHWAY 225 INTERCHANGE, BY WILLIAMS BROTHERS <br />CONSTRUCTION; APPROPRIATING A TOTAL OF $67,763.14 TO FUND SAID <br />AGREEMENT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE <br />SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Cooper to approve Ordinance 97-2164 as read by the City <br />Attorney. Seconded by Councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Council persons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />9. CONSIDER AWARDING A BID FOR FURNISlDNG OF SIGN MATERIALS SECTION <br />1 TO UNIVERSAL DIE cur; SECTION n TO CUSTOM PRODUCTS AND AWARD A <br />CONTINGENCY CONTRACT TO VULCAN SIGN FOR SECTION I & n - S. Gillett <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett reviewed the summary and recommendation to Award <br />Section I bid to Universal Die Cut and Section n to Custom Products. Also, to award a <br />contingency contract to Vulcan Sign for Sections I and n in the event the low bidders cannot <br />respond. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council person McLaughlin to a.vprove the bids as presented. Seconded <br />by Councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />10. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera stated "The contractor completed the demolition of buildings <br />at the Seabreeze Park site". He suggested that Council should go by and see the park, which <br />the citizens of La Porte will be enjoying in the future. <br />
