CONSIDER A WARDING BID FOR CHEMICALS, PAPER <br />PRODUCTS AND <br />JANITORIAL SUPPLIES ...,. S. Kelley <br />B. CONSIDER AWARDING BID FOR TIRES - S. Gillett <br /> <br />Councilperson Sutherland pulled item B. for discussion asking Public Works Director, <br />Steve Gillett questions about the quality of tires and number of bidders. Steve Gillett <br />responded to Mr. Sutherland's questions. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve the Consent'Agenda as <br />presented. Second by Councilperson McLaughlin. The motion carried 9 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Mclaughlin, Porter, Gay, <br />Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone. <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />14. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> <br />City Manager, Robert T. Herrera, reported on the upcoming'Council Retreat. He <br />informed Council to look at the notes on their schedule. The retreat will begin this <br />Friday and will end up at 12 Noon on Sunday. <br /> <br />Mr. Herrera also introduced and congratulated Debbie Wilmore as the new Chief <br />Building Official for the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />Lastly, Mr. Herrera reported that he has received many positive comments about the <br />Fourth of July Fireworks program. <br /> <br />15. COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwe11 and <br />Mayor Malone brought items to Council's attention. <br />
