There are currently eighty-three (83) employees who were <br />hired prior to that date and have service with the City of La Porte that has not been counted <br />toward their retirement. <br /> <br />The TMRS Act has a provision that allows the governing body of a municipality to adopt an <br />ordinance allowing these employees to be granted probationary employment prior service <br />credit.
