<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Council Meeting Minutes - March 23, 1998 <br />Page 10 <br /> <br />FLEET FUELING FACILITY AND A NOT-TO-EXCEED FEE OF $10,000 <br />FOR THE REMOVAL OF UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS FROM <br />THE PUBLIC WORKS AND POLICE DEPARTMENT FACILITIES - S. <br />Gillett <br /> <br />Public Works Director Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation. <br />Mr. Gillett advised Council the City is planning the construction of a new <br />centralized fleet fueling facility with aboveground tanks to replace the two <br />fueling facilities with underground tanks. The City is required to bring these <br />sites into compliance or remove them by December 22, 1998. <br /> <br />Mr. Gillett recommended Council authorize the City Manager to execute the <br />proposal agreement between the City of La Porte and H. Carlos Smith <br />Engineers and Surveyors, Inc. for a fixed design fee of $30,000 for the <br />con:;truction of new centralized Fleet Fueling Facility and not-to-exceed fee of <br />$10,,000 for the removal of underground storage tanks from the Public Works <br />and Police Department facilities. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Maxwell to approve the agreement as <br />~ested by the Public Works Director. Second by Councilperson Porter. The <br />motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, <br />Maxwell, Clarke and Malone. <br />Nay: None <br /> <br />16. ADl\fINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera reminded City Council that Early Voting will <br />take place from April 15 - April 28, 1998. <br /> <br />In addition, Mr. Herrera advised Council the Rodeo Association'wilJ be <br />recognizing the City of La Porte this year and that the City enjoys working with <br />this group. <br /> <br />17. COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />Coundlpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay and <br />Clarkl~ brought items to Council's attention. <br />
