The cost for the City of La Porte to participate is approximately <br />$3,200.00. <br /> <br />Mr. Gillett requested City Council to consider approving Resolution 98-02 <br />authorizing the City Manager to execute and return the Participation Agreement <br />on behalf of the City of La Porte and to contribute an amount not to exceed ten <br />cents ($0.10) per capita, to assist in addressing the issues and concerns raised by <br />EPA's Phase IT Storm Water Program. <br /> <br />In addition, Mr. Gillett addressed Council questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney Read: RESOLUTION 98-02 - A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF LA PORTE, TEXAS TO JOIN A COALITION OF TEXAS <br />CITIES TO ADDRESS ISSUES RELATING TO EPA'S PHASE II STORM <br />WATER PROGRAM. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to approve this Ordinance as <br />read. by the Assistant City Attorney. Second by Council person Engelken. The <br />motion carried, 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, <br />Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone. <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />11. CONSIDER APPROVAL OR OTHER ACTION REGARDING AN <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING THE DEVEWPMENT ORDINANCE <br />REGULA TING THE PLATTING OR REPLA TTING OF LAND IN THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE PERTAINING TO CONVERTING LAND FROM <br />ITS NATURAL STATE, OR ALTERING THE ELEVATION OF <br />PROPERTY, OR CONVERTING ITS EXISTING USAGE TO <br />RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL, OR INDUSTRIAL USES (Ord. 1444-A) <br />G. Rankin <br /> <br />Planning Director Guy Rankin presented summary and recommendation to City <br />Council. Mr. Rankin informed City Council there have been some resent <br />citizen complaints regarding the ability to add fill dirt to an individual property. <br />The Planning Department wishes to amend Development Ordinance #1444, to <br />provide protection for property owners adjacent to persons that seek to alter or <br />change the elevation of their property. <br /> <br />In addition, Mr. Rankin addressed Council questions. <br />
