<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />April 13, 1998 - Page 3 <br /> <br />Leadman on August 11, 1980. On September 28, 1981, Carl was promoted to <br />Foreman. On October 1, 1987, he was promoted to Utility Supervisor. Carl <br />retired on March 31, 1998. He served the City of La Porte for 21 years and 3 <br />months. <br /> <br />Carl Cole thanked the City of La Porte and advised City Council he enjoyed his <br />career. <br /> <br />C. STATE OF TEXAS RESOLUTION - FIREFIGHTER OF THE <br />YEAR <br /> <br />Lamoin Scott of Mike Jackson's Office presented the Resolution to <br />William Micheal Boaze. Ms. Scott advised City Council she was <br />presenting this prestigious award on behalf of State Representative Mike <br />Jackson and extended his regrets for not being able to attend the meeting. <br />Mr. Boaze was recognized for his more than 20 years of dedication to <br />serving his fellow citizens as a member of the La Porte Volunteer Fire <br />Department. <br /> <br />6. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND <br />CITIZENS AND TAX PAYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL <br /> <br />Ms. Minnie Biaza, 522 Shady Lane, La Porte, Texas addressed City Council <br />regarding her property which is on the Dangerous Buildings Workshop item this <br />evening. Ms. Biaza requested Council provide her with additional time in order <br />to havf~ a roof placed on her building as opposed to having the building <br />demolished . <br /> <br />Spero lPomonis, 218 Bay Colony Drive, addressed City Council regarding the <br />five (5) minute time limit for citizens while addressing Council during meetings. <br />Mr. Pomonis informed the Council he felt it was unfair that a citizen was <br />recently granted more than five (5) minutes to speak at a Council meeting. He <br />further advised he has not been granted over five (5) minutes and felt this was <br />unfair 'treatment of him. <br /> <br />Steve Valarius, 140 Hazel, La Porte, Texas addressed City Council on behalf of <br />the 01dl146 Committee. He advised City Council that the Old 146 Committee <br />is in favor of demolishing the dangerous buildings being addressed at the <br />meeting this evening. <br />
