<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN HARRIS COUNTY <br />AND <br />CITY OF LA PORTE <br />FOR <br />RENOVATION OF THE JENNIE RILEY RECREATION CENTER <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, entered this 18th day of May , 19~ by and between <br />Harris County, a body politic and corporate under the laws of the State of Texas, the herein <br />called the "Grantee", and the City of La Porte, a body politic and corporate under the laws of the <br />State of Texas, herein called the "Subrecipient". <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Grantee has applied for and received funds from the United States Government <br />under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, Public Law 97-383, <br />application number B-97-UC-48-0002; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Subrecipient is a City which has entered into a Cooperative Agreement with <br />Grantee in accordance with 24 CFR 570.308; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Grantee wishes to engage the Subrecipient to assist the Grantee in utilizing such <br />funds; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements herein contained., <br />it is agreed between the parties hereto that; <br /> <br />I. SCOPE OF SERVICE <br /> <br />A. Activities <br /> <br />The Subrecipient will be responsible for administering a Community Development.Block <br />Grant (CnBG) Fiscal Year (97) Renovation of the Jennie Riley Recreation Center Project <br />in a manner satisfactory to the Grantee and consistent with any standards required as a <br />condition of providing these funds. Such program will include renovations to an existing <br />recreation center in accordance with plans and specifications prepared and approved in <br />accordance with the terms of this Agreement. The project will benefit low and moderate <br />income persons who reside within the boundaries of the City of La Porte thus qualifying <br />the City of La Porte for the receipt and expenditure of Community Development Block <br />Grant funds under 24 CFR 570.208 (a) (1). The building is not used by Subrecipient for <br />the general conduct of government. <br /> <br />Program Delivery <br /> <br />Activity: Project will consist of, as funds allow, the construction of a connecting <br />hallway between the Center's two buildings; the removal of a portion of an interior wall <br />to allow better monitoring of activities; and the construction of two new walls to allow <br />
