Askins <br /> <br />City Attorney Knox Askms presented summary and recommendation and addressed <br />Council questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 98-2265 - AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING <br />MEMBERS TO VARIOUS BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES, OF <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; <br />CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council person Porter to approve the Ordinance as read by the <br />City Attorney. Gillett <br /> <br />Public Works Director Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council person Ebow to approve the purchase as recommended by <br />the Public Works Director. CALL TO ORDER WORKSHOP MEETING <br /> <br />Mayor Malone called the Workshop Meeting to order at 8:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Council discussed traffic humps. Public input was received from Kathy Ryan, 3209 <br />Hillsdale, La Porte, Texas and Mr. McPearson , 8402 Bandridge, La Porte, Texas. <br />Both citizens were in favor of a traffic hump policy. Council raised several questions <br />and would like this issue to be addressed again at the next Council Meeting. <br />
