Council considered approving an Ordinance approving and adopting the budget for the <br />period of October I, 1998 through September 30, 1999. <br /> <br />City Attorney Read: ORDINANCE 98-2276 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, FOR THE <br />PERIOD OF OCTOBER I, 1998 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 1999; FINDING <br />THAT ALL THINGS REQUISITE AND NECESSARY HAVE BEEN DONE IN <br />PREPARATION AND PRESENTMENT OF SAID BUDGET; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Ebow to approve the Ordinance as presented by <br />Ci(y Attorney. Seconded by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths and Mayor Malone. <br />Nays: Council person Gay. <br /> <br />12. Council considered approving a Resolution adopting the 1998 Appraisal Roll of Harris <br />County Appraisal District. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager Jeff Litchfield presented summary and recommendation and <br />addressed Council's questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 98-10 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, ADOPTING THE 1998 <br />APPRAISAL ROLL OF THE HARRIS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to approve the Resolution as read by <br />the City Attorney. Seconded by Councilperson Gay. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilperson Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Gay and Mayor Malone. <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />13.
