Second by Council person Gay. The motion carried unanimously. <br />I <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />9. Council considered an Ordinance Appointing members to the Comprehensive Plan <br />Steering Committee of the City of La Porte <br /> <br />City Attorney Knox Askins presented information concerning the ordinance and the <br />names of the citizens chosen for this ordinance. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 98-2291 - AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING <br />MEMBERS TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN STEERING COMMITTEE OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; CONTAINING A <br />REPEALING CLAUSE; FIND COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS <br />LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council person Clarke to lij)prove the Ordinance as read by the <br />City Attorney. Second by Councilperson Young. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />10. Council considered approval of The Exemption of Emergency Access Streets from the <br />City Speed Hump Policy <br /> <br />Fire Chief Joe Sease presented the summary and recommendation information and <br />addressed Council's questions. Mr. Herrera also addressed and answered Council's <br />questions. <br /> <br />Motion was made by CounciJperson Ebow to adopt an Amended Exempt of Emergency <br />Access Streets List from the Speed HuIIlP Policy by removini the Myrtle Creek Street <br />from the ori2inallist. Second by Councilperson Sutherland. The motion failed. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Ebow, Sutherland, Gay, Young <br />Nays: Councilpersons Porter, Engelken, Griffiths, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br /> <br />City Attorney Knox Askins addresses Council suggesting the adoption of the Original <br />Exemption Emergency Access Streets List from the City Speed Hump Policy. <br />
