e e Attachment to Council Aaeda Item Reauest November 30, 1998 CITY OF LA PORTE honors Maria Christina Sehnert as EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER July, August & September 1998 City of La Porte, Parks & Recreation Department staffer, Maria Christina Sehnert, "Cristy" to her friends and colleagues, was chosen as Emplovee of the Quarter, for July, August & September 1998. Sehnert has been with the Parks & Recreation Department (PARD) for 2 % years. Her first assignment was as a Home Meals Delivery Driver and since June of 1997 as the Sylvan Beach Facility Caretaker. Her responsibilities include supporting groups (that have leased the facility) with set-up requirements, AlC, Sound System, and other related items. She supervises caterers, security, concession and entertainment personnel contracted by the lessee. Nominated by her supervisor, Marlene Rigby, Sehnert is a textbook example of an exemplary employee who takes pride in her work. Rigby reports that Sehnert routinely takes it upon herself to review the work of the Pavilion's custodial staff and if she finds the conditions not up to her high standards, she does not hesitate to do the work herself. Sehnert willingly pitches in to perform a variety of tasks at other PARD facilities and special events. Sehnert does not have a "set" work schedule. Her job requires that she work a variety of hours, usually from 9:00a.m. to 2:00a.m. per event. Despite the long hours and unusual work schedule, Sehnert remains pleasant, professional and cooperative. Going the "extra mile" to deliver outstanding service to the citizens of La Porte is the RULE, not the exception for Sehnert.
