Second by Councilperson Porter. The motion carried unanimously. Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke and Mayor Malone. Nays: None Abstain: None 10. Council considered the approval of an Ordinance amending Ordinance 1444. This item was previously tabled at the 10-26-98 meeting. The agenda was incorrect in reflecting the item was tabled at the 10-16-98 meeting. Planning Director Doug Kneupper presented summary and recommendation and answered Council questions. City Attorney Read: ORDINANCE 1444-B - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1444 REGULATING THE PLATIING OR REPLA1TING OF LAND INTO SUBDMSIONS IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND WITHIN EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE BY ADDING NEW SECTION 4.021 MINOR PLATS, AND FURTHER BY AMENDING SECTION 4.06 AMENDING RECORDED SUBDIVISION PLATS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to ~prove the Ordinance as read by the .c.i.tL. Seoond by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried unanimously. Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke and Mayor Malone. Nays: None Abstain: None 11. Council considered approval of and Ordinance authorizing a contract with Gulf Coast Waste Disposal. Public Works Director Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and answered Council questions. Motion was made by Council person Ebow to all'prove the Ordinance with as presented. Second by Councilperson Gay. The motion carried unanimously.
