<br />- <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Council Meeting Minutes 2-08-99- Page 6 <br /> <br />Susan Kelley presented summary and recommendation and answered City Council <br />questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: CONSIDER APPROVAL OR OTHER ACTION AUTHORIZING <br />THE PURCHASE OF RADIOS FROM HGAC. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council person Clarke to approve the purchase of radios from <br />HGAC as presented by Ms. Kelley. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke, and Mayor <br />Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />Mayor Malone stopped the meeting for a break at 6:58 PM. <br /> <br />17. Special Called Workshop discussed the golf course greens. <br /> <br />The workshop was opened at 7: 10 PM. <br /> <br />Golf Pro Alex Osmond gave comments and answered questions. Bret Ratcliffe from <br />Turf Industries was present to answer questions. <br /> <br />The workshop was closed and the Regular Meeting was re-convened at 7:57 PM. <br /> <br />18. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera reminded Council of the following events: <br /> <br />A. Cancellation of March 8 and March 22, 1999 Council meetings. There will be <br />a Special Called Regular Meeting on March 15, 1999. <br /> <br />B. Risk Management Planning Dinner - February 23, 1999 at Sylvan Beach <br />Pavilion. <br /> <br />C. Open House for Mike Jackson and John Davis - February 25,1999 at the <br />Sylvan Beach Pavilion. <br /> <br />D. National League of Cities Conference - March 5 - 9, 1999 in Washington D.C. <br /> <br />E. Margaret Lindsey v. The City of La Porte, Texas, Norman Malone, John <br />Joerns, Guy Rankin, Bobby Powell, Robert Herrera, and John Armstrong. We <br />received a letter from Ramon Viada of Abrams, Scott, & Bickley, L.L.P. <br />notifying us that the Court has granted a take nothing summary judgement in <br />favor of all of the Defendants in this case. This means that the city and the <br />individual city officials have won the case at the trial court level. <br />
