<br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation. <br /> <br />9. Council considered approving an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to negotiate the <br />fmal easement document with Seadrift Pipeline Corporation. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke, and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to approve the Ordinance as presented by Mr. Kneupper. <br />Second by Councilperson Ebow. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1501-DD/SCU98-001 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, CHAPTER 106, MORE <br />COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE ZONNING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE, BY CHANGING CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND <br />HEREIN DESCRIBED; APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A DEVELOPMENT <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND LA PORTE 81, LTD. , LA PORTE <br />82, LTD., AND LA PORTE 115, LTD., STUART HAYNSWORTH, GENERAL PARTNER <br />AND ATTORNEY IN FACT RESPECTFULLY; DAETWYLER ENTERPRISES <br />CORPORATION, AND THEIR SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, FOR THE DEVELOPMENT <br />OF AN APPROXIMATE 293-ACRE TRACT IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TO BE KNOWN <br />AS THE TEXAS IMPORT-EXPORT PARK; MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS OF FACT <br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINSG <br />LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Director of Planning Doug Kneupper presented swnmary and recommendation. <br /> <br />8. Council considered approving Special Conditional Use Permit #SCU98-00 1 for a Planned Unit <br />Development (PUD) Zone. <br /> <br />Close Public Hearing - Mayor Malone closed the Public Hearing at 7:13 P.M. <br /> <br />Recommendation of Staff - The staff recommends approval of special conditional use <br />permit # SCD 98-001. <br /> <br />Public Input - There were no citizens wishing to address Council on this matter. <br /> <br />Review By Staff - Director of Planning Doug Kneupper presented swnmary and recommendation <br />regarding special conditional use permit (SCU) # SCU98-o01 for a proposed development within <br />a planned unit development (PUD) zone. <br /> <br />7. Open Public Hearing - Mayor Malone opened the public hearing at 6:20 P.M. <br /> <br />6. The City Council presented a Proclamation to the Red Cross recognizing their efforts in the <br />Bayshore area and the City of La Porte. Phoebe Conerly excepted the proclamation for the Red <br />Cross. <br /> <br />5. Mayor Malone and City Manager Robert T. Herrera presented Bobby Powell with a <br />gift and recognized his upcoming retirement.
