Mayor Malone presented the Emergency Medical Services Proclamation to Chris <br />Osten and several EMS staff members. <br />B. Mayor Malone presented the National Safe Boating Proclamation to Suzan Rector. <br />6. Workshop was opened at 6:12 PM. The following items were discussed. <br />A. Consider sale of city property block 177 (lots 13, 14, 15, and 16) located on <br />Fairmont Parkway immediately south of water pump station on south 4 h Street — <br />R. T. Herrera <br />B. Review report from EMS Chief concerning a recommendation to join Caring for <br />Children Foundation of Texas in helping to bring medical care by way of <br />immunizations — C. Osten <br />C. Discuss articles of incorporation and by laws proposed for La Porte Development <br />Corporation — J. Litchfield <br />D. Review Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone proposed guidelines and boundaries <br />as recommended by council subcommittee followed by a review of the <br />preliminary reinvestment financing plan — J. Joerns <br />E. Discuss proposal from Metricom to use city right of ways for technology used to <br />provide wireless internet services — J. Joems <br />F. Discuss paving of Caniff Road — D. Kneupper <br />The workshop was closed at 8:50 PM. <br />The Special Called Meeting was reconvened at 8:51 PM. <br />7. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera reminded Council of the following events: <br />A. Early voting for the run-off election will be from May 12, 1999 through May 25, <br />1999. <br />B. Election Day for the run-off election for District 6 will be on Saturday, May 29, <br />1999 in the Council Chambers at City Hall from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. <br />C. Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be May 19, 1999 at 11:45 AM at the <br />Houston Yacht Club. <br />
