Council considered approving an ordinance authorizing a contract between the City of <br />La Porte and Purtis Construction for construction of the citywide sidewalk replacement <br />project FY98-99. <br /> <br />Director of Planning Doug Kneupper presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered questions for City Council. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 99-2330 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND PURTIS <br />CONSTRUCTION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE CITY-WIDE SIDEWALK <br />REPLACEMENT PROJECT FY98-99; APPROPRIATING $63,000.00 TO FUND SAID <br />CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO <br />THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Engelken to approve the Ordinance as presented by <br />Mr. Kneupper. Second by Councilperson Ebow. Council considered approving an ordinance authorizing a contract between the City of <br />La Porte and Galveston Bay Construction Company for construction of Seabreeze Park - <br />Final Phase, proposed pier and site improvements. <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation Stephen Barr presented summary and recommendation <br />and answered questions for City Council concerning staff recommendations. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: (CLP PROJECT #99-5201) ORDINANCE 99-2331- AN <br />ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE AND GALVESTON BAY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR <br />CONSTRUCTION OF SEABREEZE PARK - FINAL PHASE, PROPOSED PIER & <br />SITE IMPROVEMENTS (CLP PROJECT #99-5201); APPROPRIATING $191,587.62 <br />TO FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve the Ordinance as presented by Mr.YBarr, Second by Councilperson Engelken, The motion carried unanimously. <br />
