City Council Minutes — June 14, 1999 — Page 3 <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to approve the Resolution as presented <br />by Ms. Hayes. Second by Councilperson Griffiths. The motion carried unanimously. <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Ebow, Engelken, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, and Clarke. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />8. Council considered award of playground equipment and park service equipment for <br />Seabreeze Park and Bay Oaks Property to Miracle Recreation Equipment, Inc. <br />Director of Parks & Recreation Stephen Barr presented summary and recommendation <br />and answered City Council's questions. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Griffiths to consider award of bid submitted by <br />Miracle Equipment Inc. for playground equipment and Park Service equipment for <br />Seabreeze Park and Bay Oaks Property. Second by Councilperson Young. The motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, and Clarke. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />9. Workshop was opened at 6:55 PM. The following items were discussed. <br />A. Received report from Hall/Barnum Architects regarding the master plan for the <br />Community Library. City Manager's Administrative Assistant Carol Buttler <br />presented summary and recommendation. Mr. Hall and Mr. Lucchesi provided a <br />presentation to City Council describing other Library properties they have <br />completed. In addition, they presented an overview of the new Community <br />Library programming and master planning report. <br />Mayor Pro -Tern Chuck Engelken called for a 5-minute break at 8:00 PM. <br />Council reconvened at 8:05 PM. <br />B. Receive report from City Manager regarding Bay Area Transportation <br />Partnership — R. T. Herrera. David Murphy and Connie Elston were available for <br />questions. <br />Council directed staff to move forward with this project. <br />Close workshop at 8:47 PM. <br />10. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera reminded Council of the following events: <br />A. Report on City Auction - Total receipt for both cities - $101,508.00, net for the <br />City of La Porte - $53,934.02. <br />
