Council considered approving an ordinance authorizing the City of La Porte to enter into <br />a water service agreement with Initial DSI Transports, Inc. <br /> <br />Director of Planning Doug Kneupper presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered City Council's questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 99-2338 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING <br />AND AUTHORIZING A WATER SERVICE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE AND INITIAL D.S.I. TRANSPORTS, INCORPORATED, FOR <br />PROVISION OF POTABLE WATER SERVICE; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to approve the ordinance as presented bv <br />Mr. KneuDper. Council received a report form City Staff and offered direction regarding a Utility <br />Extension Agreement between the City of La Porte and John Frantz Co. regarding <br />extension of waterline outside the city limits. <br /> <br />Director of Planning Doug Kneupper presented a report concerning John Frantz Co. and <br />answered City Council's questions. <br /> <br />Council recommended the City move forward with this agreement. However, they want <br />provisions included to ensure current and potential property owners are made aware of <br />the City's policy concerning water service from outside the City limits. <br /> <br />12. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />A. Consider awarding bid to Vulcan Construction Materials for annual contract for <br />aggregate surface treatment - S. Gillett. <br />B. Consider awarding bid to DXI Industries for annual contract for liquid chlorine - <br />S. Gillett. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works presented summary and recommendations and answered City <br />Council's questions. <br />
