Receive report from Parks and' Recreation Director Stephen Barr regarding the <br />City of La Porte's application to the Texas Deparbnent of Transportation <br />Enhancement Programfor the:proposed pedestrian bicycle trail system for the <br />City of La Porte. Mr. Barr answered City Council's questions. <br /> <br />Close workshop at 7: 12 PM. <br /> <br />16. Council considered approving a resolution supporting the City of La Porte's application <br />to the Texas Deparbnent of Transportation Statewide Transportation Enhancement <br />Program for the proposed pedestrian bicycle trail system for the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />Director of Parks & Recreation presented summary and recommendation. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 99-24 - A RESOLUTION ENDORSING A <br />PROPOSED PEDESTRIAN BICYCLE TRAIL SYSTEM FOR LA PORTE AND <br />AGREEING TO PARTICIPATE IN FUTURE FUNDING IF APPROVED BY THE <br />TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION UNDER THE STATEWIDE <br />TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv CouncilDerson Griffiths to approve the ordinance as presented by <br />Mr. Barr. Second by Councilperson Ebow. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Young, Clarke and Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />17. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera reminded Council of the following events: <br /> <br />A. Budget Workshop - August 16 - 20, 1999. <br /> <br />B. CityCouncilRetreat-July30-31,1999. <br /> <br />C. Open House for new Police Chief, Richard Reff - July 20, 1999,5:30 PM at City <br />Hall. <br /> <br />18. COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Young, Clarke, and <br />Mayor Malone brought items to Council's attention. <br /> <br />19. EXECUTIVE SESSION - PURSUANT TO PROVISION OF THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW, CHAPTER 551.071 THROUGH 551.076, AND 551.084, <br />TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE, - (CONSULTATION WIm ATTORNEY, <br />DELIBERATION REGARDING REAL PROPERTY, DELIBERATION <br />
