RESOLUTION NO. 99 -3 S <br />A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT TO CONTINUE THE PARTICIPATION IN A JOINT <br />GRANT WITH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION OF THE STATE OF TEXAS FOR <br />FUNDING THE HARRIS COUNTY ORGANIZED CRIME AND NARCOTIC TASK <br />FORCE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte wishes to file a joint grant application with the Criminal <br />Justice Division of the State of Texas, for funding in the amount of $ 4,951,439 for the Harris <br />County Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has agreed to contribute the total of $ 30,413 matching <br />funds for the budget year of 2000 -2AW if said joint application is approved; and <br />o�Du1 n�q <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte's/source of funds would not normally be used for this <br />purpose; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte believes it to be in their best interests to join in the <br />application to continue a multi -agency, multi -county Drug Enforcement Task force; and <br />WHEREAS, The City of La Porte agree to accept the responsibility to adhere to all <br />pertinent federal, state, and local laws and regulations. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of La Porte Council directs the <br />City Manager to execute on behalf of the City of La Porte, at the appropriate time, and with the <br />appropriate authorizations of this governing body, to file a joint application for a grant with the <br />Criminal Justice Division. This grant will assure the continuance the Harris County Organized <br />Crime and Narcotics Task Force which, we have participated in since 1989. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this the 22nd day of November 1999. <br />100, <br />MAYORNORM L.
