Her first position was <br />Switchboard Operator at the old City Hall. She was then promoted to the Water <br />Department as a Customer Service Clerk. Later she was promoted to the City <br />Managers Secretary and in 1978 she transferred to the Inspections Division as a <br />Secretary. Leta then transferred in 1987 to the Public Works Department, ending <br />her long career with the City as a Secretary I. In 1990 and 1997 Leta was awarded <br />the Employee of Quarter for outstanding performance. She is one of the few <br />employees who have had the distinction of being awarded the Employee of the <br />Quarter twice. Genitha Smith, her Supervisor has noted that Leta's dedication and <br />commitment to her assigned tasks are always exceptional.
