<br />• <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte finds that <br />it is consistent in promoting the health, safety, and welfare of <br />the citizens of the City of La Porte to reduce the maximum speed on <br />said streets of the City of La Porte based upon the results of said <br />engineering and traffic investigation; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE: <br />Section 1. Upon the basis of an engineering and traffic <br />investigation heretofore made as authorized by the provisions of <br />Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, the Code of <br />Ordinances, City of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, Chapter 70, <br />"Traffic and Vehicles", Article III, Section 70-97, paragraph (a), <br />subparagraphs (8), (9) and (10) are hereby amended to read as <br />follows, to-wit: <br />"Section 70-97(a). Maximum limits and school zones. <br />8. Along West Tyler from North 2nd Street to North 3rd <br />Street, a distance of 330 feet, 0.06 miles. <br />9. Along North 2nd Street from West Madison to West Adams, <br />a distance of 950 feet, 0.18 miles. <br />10. Along North 3rd Street from West Madison to West Adams, <br />a distance of 950 feet, 0.18 miles." <br />Section 2. The City Council officially finds, determines, <br />recites, and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, <br />hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was <br />posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the <br />City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as <br />required by the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Texas Government <br />Code; and that this meeting has been open to the public as required <br />by law at all times during which this ordinance and the subject <br />2 <br />
